Global Innovation Index 2016: Deutschland auf Platz 10

GII-2016

In the top 10, Switzerland remains at number 1 for the sixth consecutive year. Germany is in the top 10 in this year’s GII, at 10th place, with Luxembourg (12th) exiting. Germany’s entrance into the top 10 relies on its consistent performance in areas such as Research and development (sub-pillar 2.3) and Knowledge creation (sub-pillar 6.1), and it attains top indicator rankings in logistics performance (3.2.2), patent applications by origin (6.1.1), and country-code top-level domains (7.3.2). In addition, top scores in newly introduced indicators such as the average expenditure of top 3 global R&D companies (2.3.3) explain this rise.
